For this assignment we shaded in a value chart using b and h pencils. the goal was to make the squares gradually darker. After that we learned how to shade certain shapes and then we drew the small still life that was at our table.

For this assignment we had to shade a piece of cloth so I draped a piece of cloth on the back of a chair and fixed the light sources so that it would stay consistent when I needed to go back to work on it some more. I have done something like this once before and it still took me the same amount of time to complete this one as it did to complete the other and I think that's just because I need to do more studies of objects and get used to it. So ill be sure to do more things like tis in the future. For this assignment we did a modified contour drawing of a book bag. the hardest part of this drawing was the zipper area to the far right, there were lots of complex shapes in that area. I feel like with assignments like this doing a practice run before hand defiantly helps because it lets me tackle the piece in a different way when I go to work in the final.
For this assignment we practiced blind contour line drawing. One of the problem I struggled with was making the drawings hand sized, I was drawing too quick and they ended up looking too large but that was solved when I switched to a smaller sketch book and gave myself less room to work with.
I feel like the whole piece counts as using fluid line but I think its more evident in the more rounder objects like the clock and the exit sign look nice.
With practice I learned to do better measuring by spending more time looking at the piece.
Contour line is the outline and the details within those shapes aka everything you see and outline drawing is just the shapes and how they look without detail.
We did modified gesture drawings where my table did my table did a drawing of my shoe. This is probably the best drawing of a shoe that i've ever drawn. Modified gesture helps me draw what I see so i've been.
We did modified contour drawings of our hands and even though I like two of these drawings I will still continue to practice this technique and add more details in the palms as I see them.
